Gui Pelaez is a Chilean American currently based in Paris while pursuing her MSc in Environmental Policy as a Fulbright scholar at Sciences Po. Gui holds an Honors BA in Urban Ecology and a BA in International Studies from the University of Utah, where her undergraduate thesis examined “Ecological Literacy: Education and Ecological Conscience.” She is currently analysing urban adaptive capacity to climate change in Paris, France, and Santiago, Chile.
While a program specialist at Utah’s Office of Energy (OED), Gui managed the Utah Energy Education Initiative, including Industry Partnerships, Project Development, Internships, Energy Curriculum, Scholarships, Working Groups, and outreach with constituents and decision-makers across the state.
As a singer-songwriter, Gui formed a female-fronted project, First Daze, which has released singles, an EP, and an album. Gui’s music is inspired by songs from the ’70s, Chilean folk, and a desire to process the world around her.
